I'll Meet You At The Dock

“I’ll Meet You at The Dock: A Bipolar Love Affair” is an inspiring true love story and a bipolar romance biography that will make you laugh, cry, and rediscover hope and passion all over again.  It tells the real life journey of a woman (Tracy DuBord) who was liberated by love after growing up in an abusive and alcoholic home, and wrestling with mental illnesses, deep insecurities, and a heart that felt permanently unlovable.

About Pastor Todd Dubord

Pastor Todd's Background

Todd A. DuBord was raised in the Bay Area of Northern California in an atheist and agnostic background. As a young adult, he sensed that there was much more to life than he had been led to believe. In his quest for truth and meaning, Todd sought out a host of opinions for the purposes of life, from the sciences to the world religions.

In his years of research–both informal and formal (B.A. From Bethany University; M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary), Todd accepted that the claims of Christianity were true and became a Christian, while maintaining a respect for other creeds and confessions. Todd’s areas of expertise are in biblical languages and studies, leadership equipping and training, historical and ecclesiastical theology, apologetics (defense of the faith), American religious history, and pastoral care and counseling.

While going through his seven years of undergraduate and graduate studies in the 1980s, Todd also worked in business for a copier corporation, at which he served as Operations Manager for the entire region of Southern California, earning many leadership and management awards over those years.

In his early years of ministry, Todd served in prison and homeless ministries, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, adult formation and discipleship programs and other various church leadership roles. Through graduate school, Todd additionally served as overseer of a thirteen-facility retirement home and convalescent hospital ministry as well as a chaplain intern at U.C. Medical Center in Los Angeles as an community outreach intern at Lake Avenue Congregational Church in Pasadena, Ca.

Pastor Todd served as a youth pastor of a Foursquare Church in the 1980s, an Assistant Pastor of a Presbyterian Church in the 1990s,  then as Senior Pastor of Lake Almanor Community Church for 13 years (1995-2008), before most recently serving the last seven years as the Chaplain for the Chuck Norris Enterprises.  Todd also served over the same period as Chuck’s chief researcher on his two syndicated columns and most recent books (more below on those writings).

In the mid-2000s, Pastor Todd gained national recognition in his work to restore Christian revisionism and omission at American historic sites and landmarks. He successfully led restorations of America’s Christian heritage at the Jamestown Settlement (first English colony in America) and the Washington Monument (discoveries that were broadcast LIVE on FOX News and other news agencies across the country. The FOX News segment can be viewed HERE.  And read HERE how Todd & 50 others experienced the omission of America’s religious history in a tour of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, where our Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were born.

Pastor Todd's Work with Chuck Norris

For several years, Todd continued to join other national Christian leaders by marching against revisionism at various historic places, including the new U.S. Capitol Visitors’ Center, Monticello (Thomas Jefferson’s estate), the U.S. Supreme Court, and other historic landmarks that are revising America’s religious history.  A few of his revisionist stories are contained within Chuck Norris’ latest New York Times best seller, “Black Belt Patriotism,” for which Todd also served as Mr. Norris’ research assistant.  Through his own personal website, live messages, and collaborations with Mr. Norris, Todd has inspired countless Americans to fight for biblical values and our country’s Christian heritage by sharing the stories of those national landmarks at which he and his California rural church led revisionist corrections.  All of Todd’s stories and revisionist research materials (with photos and documentation) can be found at his God & country website: www.NationalTreasures.org

As Chuck & Gena Norris’ pastor, Todd accompanied Chuck to Iraq during the war in September of 2007, where they visited 15 military bases and over 18,000 troops all over Iraq. The story and some photos of their trip can also be read and viewed HERE on his National Treasures website.

In April 2008, Todd accepted the invitation from Chuck and Gena Norris to join them full time in engaging in national Christian outreach as well as serving the diversity of leaders and personnel among the Chuck Norris enterprises and non-profit organizations as the Chaplain of Top Kick Productions.  Todd also served as the chief researcher for Mr. Norris’s two syndicated columns: his culture warrior column and C-Force health & fitness column

In late 2008, Todd co-authored with Chuck his Christian cultural manifesto and New York Times bestseller, “Black Belt Patriotism,” and its later (2010) revised and enlarged paperback edition. His favorite chapters included those about the Christian heritage of America, the role of family (and particularly fathers) in restoring America, and health & fitness.  You can watch Chuck talk about “Black Belt Patriotism” by clicking HERE.

In 2009, Todd co-authored with Chuck his Tyndale-outreach hilarious and inspirational publication: “The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book: 101 of Chuck’s favorite jokes and stories about himself.”  Todd’s favorite entry is #101: the story behind his baptism of Chuck and Gena Norris.

In 2011, Todd was honored to co-author with Chuck’s 90-year old mother, Wilma Norris Knight, her autobiography: “Acts of Kindness: My Story.” Wilma is someone Todd describes as one of the most inspirational Christians he has ever met, and still going strong at 93!  Click HERE to watch Wilma’s 6-minute interview about her autobiography on Gov. Mike Huckabee’s FOX weekend talk show.

Pastor Todd and Tracy Dubord's Journey to Nothern California

As Todd transitions back to his new pastorate in Northern California and his team’s Mt. Lassen Community Church plant, he still has literary aspirations to write his next book on prayer.  Please be praying for him about that!

In 2012, Todd’s wife of 30 years, Tracy, tragically suffered a massive mental breakdown that nearly ended her life from a couple mental disorders that have been progressively affecting her quality of life since her original diagnosis in 1999. After eight days in a Houston hospital and through the following 18 months of her recovery and myriad of psychiatric and medical appointments, health professionals strongly urged Tracy’s return to a more sedentary and simple lifestyle (story  HERE).

Todd & Tracy sensed God moving them through Tracy’s illness not only to return full-time to the Lake Almanor area but also to plant a new community church in their hometown of Chester, Ca., where they raised their kids and have always resided for at least four months of each year–the remaining eight months in Texas during the last six years with the Norrises.

As a speaker and author, Todd is an inspiring Ministry educator and motivator, using a blend of biblical information, historical quotes, visuals, and contagious humor.  Dozens of his past messages can be heard in the Media Messages center on this website, including his popular, “Reasons to Believe,” “The Lord’s Prayer,” “Seven Pillars of Health,” “Facing Your Giants,” “The Mystery of Marriage,” “The Passion of the Christ,” etc. Chaplain Todd still speaks occasionally across the nation to Ministry groups and churches in a variety of service, seminar and retreat settings.  To request him as a speaker, please use the Contact Us page on this website.

In the midst of the last few difficult years, Todd & Tracy have continued to experience God’s hand of mercy, strength and provision in four significant ways.  The first is through several psychiatric, counseling, medical doctors and other health care personnel who have aided Tracy’s journey of recovery.  The second way is that Todd & Tracy have been overjoyed that their two adult children found their life-loves and were married!  The third way is that they are now proud grandparents of four adorable grandchildren–what Tracy defines as “God’s best medicine” for her mind and soul!  (See family photo above).  The fourth way is through their re-entry into local church ministry, which Todd has always described as “the hope of the world” because the church is the Body of Christ and the organic entity (His people) through which Christ Himself works and is manifest to the world in message and action by the power of the Holy Spirit..

While Tracy’s continued health care and schedule maintenance requires more weekly time from Todd, they both are overjoyed to be back full time in the Lake Almanor area and pastoring the new Ministry at Mt. Lassen Community Church.  And though Tracy’s personal interaction time with others still has to be curbed (due to “unique mental energy expenditure and moderation”), she looks forward to being back in Church with those in the Lake Almanor community and maybe even serving in ways you wouldn’t expect of her. Tracy has recently written a book (Vol. one of two) about her journey and their love story, titled, “I’ll Meet You at the Dock: A Bipolar Love Affair,” that will be made available to the public on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016 at Mt. Lassen Community Church!

To relax, Todd enjoys a good cup of coffee (fresh), reading (everything), gardening (not weeding), jogging (OK, Total Gym, too), playing guitar (his old flame), taking prayer walks (with God), walking his dogs (with Tracy), fishing (for river trout), visiting with friends (over that fresh cup of coffee), and just enjoying anywhere in our amazing, God-inspiring Mt. Lassen mountain outdoors!
